You Are Precious Bridal makes a Higham Place townhouse home for North East brides

Some wedding dress shops are simply places to try on gowns. You Are Precious Bridal, known to many brides as YAP, set out to be something more: a place where every bride is made to feel exactly what the name says.
The boutique was established in Newcastle in 2010 and for years traded from St Mary's Place. Its name has a lovely story behind it. According to a 2019 review on the wedding blog While I'm Young, "You Are Precious" was the favoured sign-off in the love letters that the late parents of the then owner wrote to one another.
Today the business is led by Danni Hesketh, and it has grown a long way from a single showroom. In a feature published by the trade magazine Bridal Buyer in August 2026, she explained that over the past 15 years it has become one of the North East's leading bridal retailers. In 2022 she bought a home in central Newcastle and launched a bridal townhouse concept, with the aim of creating "the powerhouse of bridal in the North".
That townhouse is at 8 Higham Place, close to the Laing Art Gallery, and the boutique describes it as "one super luxurious & relaxed bridal townhouse full of signature styling". Alongside You Are Precious it is home to Love Above, a plus size bridal lounge, and Britton Occasion Wear. A short walk away, the Sisters of Grace outlet, now in its fifth year, offers ex-sample gowns and previous season collections.
The designer list is a who's who of modern bridalwear, taking in Madi Lane Bridal, Jeune Bridal, Allure Bridals, Madison James, Evie Young, Wilderly and Ellis Bridal among others. Each bride is looked after by a personal bridal stylist from the first consultation to the moment she chooses her dress, with further appointments for accessories and bridesmaids.
The team, known as the Soul Sister Stylists, is central to the experience. "We train our Soul Sister Stylists to lead with professionalism and sensitivity," Danni told Bridal Buyer. That approach has been recognised by the industry, and the boutique's awards include Bridal Retailer of the Year (England) and Team of the Year at the Bridal Buyer Awards.
Her advice to anyone thinking of opening a bridal shop is simple: "Be clear on your positioning before you open your doors."
Appointments, designer collections and details of the sister brands are on the You Are Precious Bridal website.
